Best Floor Cleaner EVER! Pledge Clean & Shine Floor Care - AMAZING
Let me tell you about my new favorite product...
This little bottle you see to the left will save you a lot of time, sweat and tears.
With multiple children and a super busy house, our floor gets a lot of traffic and a lot of "stuff" stuck to it. I've tried several cleaners that didn't work and several cleaners that were just OK.
Pledge Floor Care Multi-surface Cleaner - AMAZING - No more vinegar "wax on, wax off" on my hands and knees!
After trying several products, old and new, I finally have a product that worked on my high-traffic kitchen floor!
My husband and I have seven children between us. They range in age from 20 down to 3 months.
School just let out for the year, so the traffic has just increased exponentially and is not likely to slow down for months.
My kitchen and dining area are the passageways between the garage, the living room and the deck to the back yard. The floor in that area is wood laminate. Things get spilled, tracked through, squirted, exploded and rolled on this floor.
About a month ago, I tried my Swiffer Wet Jet on this floor. I love the smell of this product as well as the ease of use; however, it only smeared around whatever was on the floor that day. It left the room smelling great; but, the floor looked worse than when I started.
I searched the web for ideas on how to get this film off the floor. I was looking for any product or home remedy. It seemed the main consensus was vinegar and warm water. I filled the sink, dumped in all the vinegar I had and got down on my hands and knees. I used one hand to wipe on the solution and the other hand to dry and buff the same area. Picture Daniel-san doing the "wax on, wax off" motion.
I admit the floor looked good. The house smelled like colored Easter eggs.
Something sticky was spilled recently. I'm told it was sweetened coffee. If it was my coffee, it likely was what I like to call the "hummingbird mix." I put about four spoons of sugar and some caramel flavoring in every cup.
The mess was promptly wiped up; but, the floor was super sticky. I tried to ignore it for a few days. Then the dirt settled in, the chairs stopped being smoothly moved across the floor, my socks would get sticky on one pass by and then I would pick up dirt and crumbs on the next.
After breakfast this morning, the kids cleaned the kitchen and got the dishes out of the way. As they started to find things to do outside, I started locking doors. I moved what I could out of the area and broke out the first in a series of cleaners I had recently purchased. With the name "Pledge" I hoped it would have a bit of a shine/wax effect.
Again, I got down on my hands and knees with a rag. I squirted a little onto the floor and wiped. I did another section and then another. This area was all in front of the patio door so there was a lot of sunshine coming through. I stopped when I got to the kitchen area. When I looked back into the dining area, I was amazed. The floor was perfect. Absolutely perfect. I read the bottle, "MULTI SURFACE." So I squirted some on the wood table, wiped it in, let it dry... perfect.
I moved to the kitchen area. I used my Swiffer Wet Jet without squirting their cleaner. I just used the mop part so I wouldn't have to get on my hands and knees. Perfect.
I promptly sat down and composed a love letter to "Johnson, a family company." When I find a great product, I want the company to know. I have had so many favorite products discontinued. I know, ultimately, it depends on sales; but, it just seems like I must be the only one out there buying certain products because my favorites often disappear... Sobe light green tea, black cherry diet coke, French vanilla mini wheats.... but all of that is another story...
